In a bold move to empower every Filipino voter, Grab Philippines and motorcycle taxi platform MOVE IT have teamed up with the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) to launch #RideToVote — a nationwide campaign that combines voter education with transport support ahead of the May 12 midterm elections.

Inking the partnership, [L-R] COMELEC Commissioner Ernesto Ferdinand Maceda Jr., COMELEC Chairman George Erwin M. Garcia, Grab Philippines Country Head Ronald Roda, MOVE IT General Manager Wayne Jacinto, and Grab Philippines Head of Public Affairs Atty. Sherielysse Bonifacio signaled a united push toward democratic participation and accessibility.

“An informed and empowered electorate is the backbone of a thriving democracy,” said Grab Philippines Country Head Ronald Roda. “Through #RideToVote, we’re not only helping Filipinos reach the polls — we’re helping them arrive informed, confident, and ready to shape the nation’s future.”

Phase 1: Voter Education in the Digital Era

Grab is maximizing its digital platforms — including its app, social media channels, and influencer networks — to deliver essential voter information. From election day checklists and ID requirements to reminders on voting protocols, the campaign ensures voters are fully prepared before they even step out the door.

This digital push comes as part of Grab’s commitment to nation-building, bringing critical information directly into the hands of millions of users.

Phase 2: Accessible Transport on Election Day

Recognizing that access to transport is often a hurdle for voter turnout, the second phase of #RideToVote tackles this head-on:

  • GrabCar riders can enjoy ₱50 off with the promo code RIDETOVOTE on May 12 from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

  • MOVE IT users can take advantage of ₱20 off motorcycle taxi rides from May 10 to 12 using the promo code BOTONAMI.

To further support voters, Grab will operate booking assistance stations in ten key voting hubs across Metro Manila and Cebu. Staffed by trained brand ambassadors, these booths will help voters easily book discounted rides and navigate polling day with ease.

Prioritizing Inclusion: Free Rides for Vulnerable Sectors

In a joint effort to make elections more inclusive, COMELEC is rolling out Early Voting Hours for senior citizens, persons with disabilities (PWDs), and pregnant voters from 5:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m.

As a show of full support, Grab will provide FREE rides during these hours for registered senior and PWD users on its platform. These voters will receive a special in-app promo code to claim their rides.

COMELEC’s Commitment to Inclusive Democracy

COMELEC Chairman George Erwin M. Garcia emphasized the importance of public-private partnerships in strengthening the electoral process.

“Democracy thrives when everyone participates — especially those often left behind. Through this partnership with Grab and MOVE IT, we are breaking down barriers that hinder voter engagement and sending a clear message: every Filipino voice counts.”
