In the wake of the devastating 6.9-magnitude earthquake that struck northern Cebu on September 30, affecting over 170,000 individuals and claiming more than 70 lives, Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) stepped up as a true Responsible Partner—bringing hope, relief, and compassion to one of the hardest-hit communities.
Together with its Cebu dealer partner Iconic Dealership, Inc. (IDI), IPC mobilized a relief mission to Barangay Poblacion, San Remigio, delivering essential supplies to 200 families. The town, placed under a state of calamity and facing a Minor Sea Level Disturbance advisory, welcomed the Isuzu team with open arms.
Leading the initiative were Mario Ojales, IPC Department Head of Dealer Sales, and Eufemio Ybanez, Isuzu Mandaue Branch Head. From Mandaue City, the team transported bottled water and relief goods using Isuzu Mobile Medic trucks—typically deployed for vehicle assistance, now repurposed to serve a higher calling: humanitarian aid.
“At Isuzu, being a Responsible Partner means showing up when it matters most,” said Ojales. “We’re here not just to power businesses, but to uplift lives—especially in times of crisis.”
“Witnessing the resilience of the San Remigio community was truly moving,” added Ybanez. “We’re proud to be part of an organization that leads with heart and action.”
The team was warmly received by Barangay Captain Rey Tamboboy and local officials, who helped distribute the goods to grateful residents.
“We are deeply thankful to Isuzu Philippines and Iconic Dealership for their swift response and generosity,” said Captain Tamboboy. “Their support brings comfort and strength to our community during this difficult time.”
This relief effort is a powerful reminder that Isuzu’s mission goes far beyond vehicles—it’s about driving meaningful change, standing with communities, and being a force for good when it’s needed most.
