The final Pre-Final session of the Clark International Festival of Speed (CIFOS) at the Clark International Speedway was nothing short of dramatic—an afternoon that tested riders, teams, and machines to their limits.
The day began under the scorching Philippine sun, hot and humid—the kind of weather that sets the stage for speed. But just as the grid was ready, the skies opened. Rain poured down in sheets, forcing teams into a frantic scramble to switch to wet tires with only minutes to spare. Mechanics worked under a curtain of water, battling the elements as much as the clock.

From P2 on the grid, Marvin Mangulabnan faced an added challenge: he had to rely on an old set of rain tires. Yet, true to form, Marvin refused to let circumstances dictate his performance. As the session began under relentless downpour, he carved through the spray with precision, overtaking championship leader TJ Alberto and teammate Troy Alberto, who later retired at Post 6.
Lap after lap, Marvin extended his lead, building a commanding 13‑second gap over the field. In the white curtain of rain, his control and courage stood out—an impressive display of skill that had fans and paddock alike buzzing.
But racing is as much about discipline as it is about speed. After completing his 8 laps, officials discovered Marvin’s rear rain light was not functioning—a mandatory safety requirement in wet conditions. Despite his dominant run, the technical infraction resulted in a disqualification from Pre-Final.

Marvin Mangulabnan’s Statement
“Today was one of the hardest Pre-Final sessions I’ve faced—old rain tires, heavy downpour, and the pressure of the season finale. I gave everything I had, and I’m proud of the pace we showed. The DQ is tough, but rules are rules, and safety always comes first.
Tomorrow’s race will decide everything, and I’ll be ready to fight with humility, focus, and gratitude. Thank you to my team, sponsors, and everyone who continues to believe in us.” — Marvin Mangulabnan
Peter Yung, Team Manager of MOTUL REVO Racing Project
“Marvin’s performance today was extraordinary. To lead by over 13 seconds in those conditions shows his strength and resilience. The disqualification is unfortunate, but we respect the regulations. Our eyes are now on tomorrow’s final race of the season. The goal is clear: give Marvin the best possible machine, fight for the podium, and close the year on a high. We thank our partners and supporters—this journey is built on their trust and passion.” — Peter Yung
