The Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team has announced a groundbreaking global partnership with PepsiCo, beginning in 2026. For the first time, three of PepsiCo’s powerhouse brands—Gatorade, Sting, and Doritos—will unite under one banner to fuel performance, energize fans, and bring bold flavor to the fast lane.
Driving Formula 1’s Global Momentum
As Formula 1 continues its explosive growth and expanding fanbase, this multi-year partnership positions PepsiCo at the heart of the sport’s global trajectory. From pioneering hydration programs to immersive fan activations, PepsiCo will be integrated across the team’s operations, amplifying both performance and fan engagement.
Fuelling Team Performance with Gatorade
For the first time, Gatorade brings its 60-year heritage and the expertise of the Gatorade Sports Science Institute (GSSI) to the paddock. In a sport where drivers can lose up to 4 kilograms of body weight through sweat in a single race, hydration is critical. Gatorade’s customized performance hydration strategy will give the team a competitive edge—because in F1, every millisecond matters.
F1 Talent Meets Brand Power
The partnership will spotlight Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team drivers George Russell and rising star Kimi Antonelli, representing two generations of racing excellence. Fans can expect behind-the-scenes content, interactive activations, and unique experiences showcasing the collective strengths of Gatorade, Sting, and Doritos.
Sting: Fast Just Got Faster
As the #1 energy drink in markets like India, Pakistan, Vietnam, and Egypt, Sting mirrors F1’s rapid expansion across emerging regions. With its energetic brand spirit, Sting will electrify race weekends, connecting Gen Z fans to the thrill of the sport and delivering speed and excitement like never before.
Doritos: Bold Flavor Meets Bold Racing
Known worldwide as the boldest snack brand, Doritos® will elevate the fan experience with high-impact, flavor-forward activations inspired by the intensity of F1. Through global activation rights, Doritos will bring its signature edge to race weekends, blending adrenaline and flavor for fans everywhere.
“This partnership unites performance, energy, and flavour under one banner—connecting three of PepsiCo’s most iconic brands with the world’s most successful Formula 1 team,” said Eugene Willemsen, CEO, International Beverages at PepsiCo. “Through Gatorade, Sting, and Doritos, we’re inside the culture of the sport, fuelling both the athletes and the fans who live for the thrill of F1.”
Toto Wolff, Team Principal & CEO, Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team, added: “Welcoming a company with a portfolio as strong as PepsiCo’s into our partner ecosystem is another sign of the strength of our team and our sport. Gatorade’s expertise in sports science, Sting’s youthful energy, and Doritos’ cultural relevance each bring something unique. Together, they create a partnership that not only supports our team’s performance but also enhances the experience for our fans around the world.”
Richard Sanders, Chief Commercial Officer, Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team, said: “We’re delighted to welcome PepsiCo to the team. Their expertise in this sector will help us deliver great experiences for our guests and fans at the track and beyond. It’s a partnership that adds real value to how we operate day-to-day and how we connect with people around the world.”
