Motul empowers brand ambassador Sylvain Guintoli

Motul, a renowned French lubricant brand, has established a strong reputation in the motorsports industry for its rich legacy and unwavering support to teams and racers. One of their brand ambassadors is Sylvain Guintoli, a highly-seasoned French rider and 2021 WSBK world champion. Guintoli’s extensive experience across various motorcycle brands and categories has enabled him to achieve numerous successes with Motul, including generating significant buzz and presenting innovative new product ranges to the public. His historic championship victory with Suzuki MotoGP coincided with the 100th anniversary of Suzuki Motor Corporation, with whom Motul has partnered for over three decades.

Having earned the distinction of being known as the “last gentleman rider,” Guintoli recently participated in the 24 hours of Spa Francorchamps on June 17th, 2023, with the support of Motul. Despite a previous crash in Le Mans, he remained confident in his team’s potential to repeat their 2021 victory. In that triumphant year, Guintoli’s team, Yoshimura SERT Motul, claimed victory not only in the World Championship, but also in the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans race and Bol D’Or.

Now in his 40s, Guintoli has expanded his horizons and started pursuing a passion for car racing, which he has always enjoyed and recently has had more time for. With a newfound interest in racing cars, the French rider has set an ambitious goal of becoming the first person in history to win the 24 Hours of Le Mans on both 2-wheel and 4-wheel. To gain valuable experience in racing cars, he has teamed up with Radical Motorsport, an OEM that Motul has a partnership with. Guintoli believes that in order to pursue this goal, he must race as many cars as possible to gain valuable experience and become a better, faster racer. Guintoli compares riding bikes from cars, and he states that racing cars allows for a more aggressive approach with previous training. He believes that competing in various races with a proper race car in a high-level competition is an effective way for him to learn.

The Frenchman is a strong advocate for using Motul products to maintain bike performance and ensure safety. He uses Motul products daily, both at home and during training, relying on the 300V Factory Line to achieve maximum performance. Guintoli underlines the importance of using high-quality products provided by Motul to keep bikes in top condition, eliminating concerns with excessive weather conditions, as well as ensuring rider safety. Guintoli highlights Asia as one of his favorite regions to compete in, despite its challenging conditions such as the high humidity and extreme heat, which makes it physically demanding for both riders and machines, particularly in countries like Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, and Japan. Sylvain emphasizes the importance of keeping bikes cool in such conditions and relies on Motul products to maintain bike performance, citing the 8 Hours of Suzuka as the most extreme race.
