CFMOTO Retains Moto3 Lead After Thrilling USGP

The Grand Prix of the United States delivered drama, strategy, and resilience for the CFMOTO Aspar Team, with Máximo Quiles producing one of his finest Moto3 performances to date. Starting from eighth, the Spaniard wasted no time moving into podium contention, setting a blistering pace that forced rivals to chase.

Quiles’ race was a masterclass in patience and timing. After briefly slipping to fourth with three laps to go, he bided his time, studying his opponents before launching a decisive move on the final corner. His daring maneuver secured second place—just 0.056 seconds shy of victory—and crucially kept him at the top of the Moto3 championship standings.

Teammate Marco Morelli endured a tougher outing. A long‑lap penalty and unfamiliarity with the Austin circuit hampered his rhythm, but the Argentine fought back to finish 12th, salvaging points and valuable experience.

In Moto2, the CFMOTO Aspar riders faced chaos from the start. Dani Holgado crashed at Turn 1, while David Alonso was caught in a pile‑up at Turn 11, forcing a red flag. Thanks to rapid work from the team, both riders rejoined for the shortened restart. Alonso staged a remarkable comeback, climbing to fourth after slicing through the field, while Holgado struggled with penalties and grip issues, finishing 16th.

With Quiles’ podium and Alonso’s charge, CFMOTO Aspar leaves Austin still leading both the Moto3 Riders’ Championship and the Team standings, proving once again that consistency and resilience are as vital as outright speed in the world championship fight.
