MV Agusta’s Simone Corsi and Manuel González protagonists of a hard-fought race in the Dutch

Sunday of the Dutch GP started with a surprising Warm Up for Manuel González: the young Spanish rider had a great session ending in twelfth position, only 23 thousandths from the Top 10. Simone Corsi has instead used the session for the last adjustments to the set up before the race.

The race has seen the Italian-Swiss team’s riders, with special livery thanks to the Title Sponsor of the Gp ENGINE, battle for all the 24 laps: Simone Corsi has recovered several positions up to arrive in the points zone when, to avoid a fallen rider in front of him, has lost ground and poasitions. The roman rider has then found again his rhythm until he has been forced to a Long Lap Penalty for a chicane cut, ending his race in 21st position.

Manuel González, on the other side of the box, achieved the personal goal he had set together with his team: to finish his debut race in the category, leaving behind some riders. Result achieved for the young Spanish who finished 22nd. “The goal was to finish the race and put some riders behind, so we can say that the goal is achieved. Manuel made his debut in the most difficult conditions possible: he missed FP1, he did FP2 in wet and in the conditions in which he did the race, I must say that he gave his best and the result was beyond my personal expectations. So the boy is interesting, he gave good indications and good feedback and this is important for us. Despite the final result we are satisfied and it has been a great experience working with him” this is what Luca Capocchiano said.

The MV Agusta Forward Racing Team will now face the summer break to recharge the batteries in view of the second part of the season that will start again on August 06-07-08 in Austria for the Styria GP.
