Toyota Gazoo Racing Philippine Cup Wraps Up Thrilling 2025 Season

The checkered flag has waved on the 2025 TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Philippine Cup, capping off a season packed with adrenaline, innovation, and unforgettable moments. After three race weekends, the championship titles have been claimed, new racing concepts unveiled, and the spirit of motorsport elevated to new heights.

Champions Crowned Across All Classes

The season concluded with standout performances from racers across the country:

  • Super Sporting Class Champion: Russel Cabrera – Toyota Team Cebu – Standard Insurance
  • Sporting Class Champion: Jesse Garcia – Obengers Racing – Toyota Balintawak
  • Novice Class Champion: Luis Moreno – Toyota Gazoo Racing Philippines Novice Team
  • Team Champion: Obengers Racing

These racers showcased exceptional skill and consistency throughout the season, earning their place at the top of the podium.

Tamaraw OMR Concept Steals the Spotlight

One of the weekend’s biggest highlights was the Sprint Race debut of the Tamaraw OMR Concept, a locally developed one-make-race vehicle. Former Vios Cup champions including Allan Uy, Daniel Miranda, Estefano Rivera, John Dizon, and GR Development Driver Aaron Guevara pushed the Tamaraw to its limits, logging lap times comparable to Vios CVT OMRs and even outperforming GR 86 and Vios Legacy Class cars in the Drag Race.

“We’ve made major upgrades focused on safety and handling since its debut,” said JC Gaon, TMP GR Section Supervisor. “Being the first country to develop an OMR vehicle is a challenge, but the Tamaraw’s performance this weekend was impressive.”

Race Weekend 3: Speed, Strategy, and Showmanship

Held at Clark International Speedway, the final race weekend featured:

  • Sprint Races across all classes

The return of the Endurance Race, where TMP President Masando Hashimoto claimed his first win

GR Club Races featuring GR Yaris, GR Supra, and GR 86 owners

The kickoff of the TGR Philippines eSports GT Championship 2025, TMP’s premier sim racing tournament

A live performance by Over October, adding a musical finale to the motorsport spectacle.
