BYD Cars Philippines has raced past its full‑year 2025 sales target just eight months into 2026, closing August with 4,682 units sold and bringing its January‑to‑August tally to 28,399 vehicles. That’s a 99% jump compared to the same period last year, and already higher than the 26,122 units sold in all of 2025 — a milestone reached four months ahead of schedule.
The momentum has been undeniable. April 2026 marked BYD’s biggest month ever, with 5,730 units sold — a staggering 258% increase year‑on‑year. These results highlight the surging demand for BYD’s New Energy Vehicles (NEVs) among Filipino motorists.
Plug‑in hybrids continue to lead the charge. From January to August, BYD sold 22,555 DM‑i models, nearly doubling last year’s performance. The Sealion 6 DM‑i has emerged as the star, selling 7,759 units and accounting for more than a quarter of total sales. The eMAX 9 DM‑i also made a strong showing with 2,512 units sold.
Battery electric vehicles are gaining traction too, with sales hitting 5,844 units — up 115% from 2025. The eMAX 7 led the BEV lineup, contributing 1,975 units or 34% of BYD’s total BEV sales.

Globally, BYD continues its winning streak, recording 440,293 NEV sales in August 2026. Locally, the brand’s reach is expanding with 81 dealerships nationwide, ensuring more Filipinos have access to sales and after‑sales support wherever they are.
