FKM Motorcycle Philippines introduces two scooter models into the Philippine market, the Slick400 and the latest version of the Venture150 Ultimate Plus. Both of which are impressive additions to their scooter line-up.
For those unfamiliar with FKM Motorcycle Philippines, you may have heard of their former name: Fekon Motorcycles. They are a Singaporean registered company with manufacturing done in Guanzhou, China. Currently, assembly of their units are done locally in the Philippines.
The launch (and test ride) of the Slick400 amd the Venture150 Ultimate Plus was do at the scenic venue of Martessem Mountain Resort in Tanay, Rizal.
Slick400
First off, the Slick400 is a maxi-scooter category unit pwered by a liquid-cooled, fuel injected, 4-valve SOHC 400cc engine. The powerplant makes a maximum power of 21.7kw (29.1hp)/7500 rpm and a maximum torque of 33.5nm (24.7 ft-lbs)/5500 rpm.) Makes for scooter with more than enough grunt in all speeds. The belt-driven CVT transmit the engine’s power to the rear wheel effectively and smoothly.

Aside from the engine/tranny combo, the Slick 400 also features front and rear disk brakes with ABS (the front brakes featuring triple piston calipers), adjustable brake levers, tire pressure monitoring system, TFT/analog instrumentation, full LED lights and a keyless ignition system when you purchase it off the showroom floor.
Getting on the Slick 400 is easy with a 745mm seat height and you have 140mm of ground clearance for practically anything you could encounted within scootering around the city. Wheelbase is a longish 1,548mm that helps in the comfort department. The fuel tank carries 13.5 liters of fuel when full. With a claimed 27 km/l, that equates to 364.5 hilometers between fuel ups. In case you’re wondering what the wet weight is, its 200kg.
Tires are a chunky 120/70-14 in front and a 150/70-13 in the rear which give the Slick400 a lot road manners and sufficient amount of grip. Smoothing out the ride are telescopic forks in front and dual shock absorbers in the rear.
The Slick400 is priced at Php266,000.
Venture150 Ultimate Plus
The Venture150 Ulimate Plus is essentially same as the Venture150 Ultimate edition except that it now features spoked wheels for more durability, specially when once you go off the paved path. The Venture150 Ultimate Plus is basically a solid adventure scooter like its non-Plus bretheren. You now have the option of getting a cast wheel in the Ultimate and a wire-spoked wheel in the Ultimate Plus.
The specifications of the Ultimate Plus are essentially a carry over from the Ultimate. Power comes from a liquid-cool, fuel injected SOHC 150cc engine that is capable of making 12.1kw (16.2hp)/8500rpm and 14.5nm (10.7ft-lbs)/5500rpm of torque. A nice feature of the engine is the Hybrid Assist system where the engine gets an electrical boost under acceleration and starting is much qicker, also smoother. The CVT transmission is standard fare with any scooter within its class
There is front and rear disk brakes with ABS and Tracton Control System (TCS). Just like the Slick400, it also has adjstable brake levers and Tire Pressure Monitoring System. It also has a full TFT instrumentation, full LED lights and a keyless ignition system. Cameras in the front and rear capture what goes on during your ride. And finally, the windscreen is adjustable.
Being a scooter of the adventure kind, you’d expect a tall seat height but it’s reachable 800mm with a ground clearance of 165mm. Fuel tank capacity is 9.3liters. Though I don’t have the fuel mileage numbers for the Venture150, it will be surely be economical with the Start/Stop Function onboard and the 155kg. wet weight.
The tires are the dual sport kind for traction both on and off road. Sizes are 100/80-14 up front and 130/70-13 in the rear.
The bump are smoothen out by the longish travel front telescopic shocks and rear dual shock absorbers with resevoirs. And for the Plus variant, the wire-spoked wheels are exclusive to it. Bringing an air of durability on offroad excurions you may get youself into because the spokes allow some flex when tackling ruts and rocks.
The Venture150 comes in 3 variants; the Standard, Ultimate and Ultimate Plus. Each variant is priced at Php145,00 for the Standard, Php166,00 for the Ultimate, and finally Php168,00 for the Ultimate Plus.
