Honda Foundation Marks Arbor Day with Tree Planting in Siniloan, Laguna

Honda Foundation, Inc. (HFI) joined hands with the community to celebrate Arbor Day by planting 2,000 trees in the Sierra Madre Mountains, Barangay Magsaysay, Siniloan.

This activity is part of HFI’s five‑year tree‑planting and livelihood program, carried out in partnership with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), the Magsaysay Coconut Farmers Association (MACOFA), and the local government of Siniloan. Since 2024, the program has already nurtured 14,000 fruit‑bearing trees under the DENR’s National Greening Program. With this year’s planting, the initiative has reached its target, helping restore forest cover while providing communities with cleaner air, fresher water, and natural flood protection.

Eighty volunteers — including HFI members, DENR and MACOFA partners, and government representatives — came together for the Arbor Day celebration. Beyond planting trees, the program also supports local farmers with sustainable livelihood opportunities, ensuring that environmental preservation goes hand in hand with community well‑being.

“Honda Foundation is committed to being a company that society wants to exist. Through projects like this, we contribute directly to environmental preservation while supporting Honda’s global vision of achieving zero carbon by 2050,” said an HFI representative.

The Arbor Day tree‑planting underscores Honda’s belief that caring for the environment is not just about meeting targets — it’s about creating a healthier, more resilient future for generations to come.
