MITSUBISHI FUSO Bridges Legacy and the Electric Future at PITS 2026

With more than six decades of supporting Filipino businesses on the road, Sojitz Fuso Philippines Corporation (SFP) marked a new chapter in the brand’s journey at the inaugural Philippine International Truck Show (PITS), held at the SMX Convention Center Manila. Carrying the theme “Reliable Mobility Since the 1960s,” the company’s presence at the event highlighted both its rich heritage and its vision for the future of commercial transportation.

At the heart of the display was the iconic MITSUBISHI FUSO Three-Diamond logo, serving as a symbol of the brand’s enduring commitment to reliability, innovation, and progress. More than just a visual centerpiece, the emblem tied together the two vehicles showcased at the booth: the trusted FUSO Canter and the all-electric eCanter, representing the past, present, and future of commercial mobility.

Leading the display was the FUSO Canter FE73, equipped with a 14-foot loading span. For decades, the Canter has been a familiar sight on Philippine roads, helping power businesses of every size, from small enterprises to large-scale logistics operations. Since its global debut in 1963, the light-duty truck has earned a reputation for durability, practicality, and dependable performance, becoming one of the most recognizable nameplates in the MITSUBISHI FUSO lineup.

Sharing the spotlight was the newly launched eCanter, the electric counterpart to the Canter and a clear reflection of MITSUBISHI FUSO’s commitment to sustainable transport solutions. Combining the proven strengths of the Canter with electric vehicle technology, the eCanter demonstrates how commercial vehicles are evolving to meet the changing needs of modern businesses and a transportation industry increasingly focused on efficiency and environmental responsibility.

Together, the Canter and eCanter tell a story of evolution. One represents a legacy built on decades of reliability, while the other points toward a future shaped by innovation and cleaner mobility solutions.

“Here at our booth, we are bringing together two important chapters of the MITSUBISHI FUSO story. The FUSO Canter has a long-standing legacy in the light-duty truck segment, while the eCanter reflects our direction toward a more sustainable and electrified future.

These two vehicles may represent different points in our journey, but they share the same purpose: to support our Filipino customers and help their businesses move forward,” said Mr. Yosuke Nishi, President and CEO of Sojitz Fuso Philippines Corporation.

Through its participation at PITS, SFP presented a compelling showcase of where the brand has been and where it is headed. The Canter stood as a testament to over six decades of dependable service, the eCanter highlighted the company’s ambitions for the future, and the Three-Diamond logo connected both narratives under a single vision.

As the commercial vehicle industry continues to evolve, MITSUBISHI FUSO’s message at the country’s first international truck show was clear: while technology and customer needs may change, the brand’s commitment to delivering reliable mobility for Filipino businesses remains as strong as ever.
