Chevron Invests $3.1 Million to Open Lapu-Lapu Terminal to Global Fuel Trade

Chevron has officially opened its upgraded Lapu-Lapu Terminal in Cebu to both domestic and international fuel trade, following a $3.1 million investment that expands storage capacity to 150,000 barrels (24 million liters) and unlocks an estimated $1 million in annual value.

The milestone was marked by the docking of the terminal’s first international import vessel, the MT CHANG HANG FEI YUE Voy No. 2518, carrying products from South Korea. Chevron’s on-ground team, working closely with government agencies, ensured the safe and successful reception—signaling the terminal’s readiness for global operations.

Strategically located in Lapu-Lapu City, one of Cebu’s fastest-growing urban centers, the terminal strengthens Chevron’s supply chain across Central Visayas, supporting fuel needs for manufacturing, transportation, and tourism. It also opens new opportunities for retailers and business partners by ensuring a more reliable fuel supply.

This development follows Chevron Philippines Inc.’s (CPI) renewed lease agreements with Batangas Land Company, Inc. (BLC) for properties in Batangas, La Union, and Davao City. Alongside Lapu-Lapu, Chevron continues to invest in energy infrastructure across the country to maintain safe, efficient operations.

CPI General Manager and Country Chairman Pongtorn “Bon” Tangmanuswong emphasized: “Our investment in the Lapu-Lapu terminal is a sign that Chevron is here to stay. We want to move more safe, quality Caltex fuels around the country and ensure every corner of the Philippines has access to reliable energy.”

For over a century, Chevron has built its reputation on credibility and accessibility, with a nationwide network of 600+ Caltex service stations, terminals, and supply points. The Lapu-Lapu terminal expansion reinforces Chevron’s long-term commitment to powering Filipino communities with safe, high-quality, and dependable fuel services.
