The spotlight was on Kia Philippines today as the brand unveiled the all-new Kia Sportage Turbo Hybrid, marking the return of one of the country’s most recognizable SUVs. Now in its fifth generation, the Sportage has long been a pioneer in the Filipino compact SUV segment. This latest model carries forward that legacy while embracing bold design, advanced hybrid technology, and a vision for sustainable mobility.
A Heritage Reimagined
“The Kia Sportage has occupied a special place in the hearts of Filipino motorists as a pioneer of the compact SUV segment,” shared Jay Lopez, Managing Director of Kia Philippines.

The new Sportage embodies Kia’s Opposites United design philosophy. Its signature Tiger Nose Grille, paired with Star-Map LED headlights, creates a striking front fascia that flows into a sleek silhouette. Standard 18-inch alloy wheels and a Smart Power tailgate complete the look, balancing everyday utility with modern sophistication.
Hybrid Power for a New Era
Under the hood, the Sportage introduces a 1.6-liter turbocharged hybrid drivetrain with a 1.49kWh lithium-ion battery, delivering a combined output of 235 PS and 367 Nm of torque. This blend of turbocharged performance and hybrid efficiency ensures responsive city driving while offering the range and reliability needed for long provincial trips.
Comfort, Connectivity, and Safety
Inside, the cabin is designed for modern lifestyles. A 12.3-inch LCD infotainment system with Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto anchors the dashboard, complemented by wireless charging and premium leather seating. Depending on the variant, drivers can enjoy either a 6-speaker system or an immersive Harman Kardon 8-speaker setup.
Safety is equally prioritized. Across all variants, Kia DriveWise provides advanced driver assistance, while the top-tier SX adds features such as Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, Smart Cruise Control, and Blind Spot Collision Avoidance Assist.
Designed for Filipino Drivers
Two variants are available:
- EX at an introductory price of ₱1,898,000 until July 31 (regular SRP ₱1,978,000)
- SX at ₱2,098,000, or ₱2,128,000 with a two-tone interior option
Color choices include Heritage Blue, Wolf Grey, Snow White Pearl, and Gravity Grey. Both variants come with Kia’s 5-year/160,000 km vehicle warranty and an 8-year/160,000 km battery warranty, underscoring the brand’s commitment to long-term reliability.
