From city commutes to family road trips, Benjie Paras wears many hats. The former PBA star, actor, comedian, and father often juggles a packed schedule, and he says having a vehicle that can keep up makes all the difference.
For Paras, his BAIC has become the go-to companion for just about everything.
“It’s my everyday car,” he said. “When I go to work in the city or out of town, I don’t worry about the cargo space. It’s economical, and I feel safe whenever my kids are with me.”
Rather than focusing on horsepower figures or technical specifications, Paras values the things that make a real difference in daily life: comfort, practicality, and peace of mind.
One feature he appreciates most is the vehicle’s safety technology, particularly the system designed to help prevent collisions.
“It automatically stops when you’re about to hit something,” he explained.
It’s the kind of feature that quietly does its job in the background, alongside other everyday conveniences such as the automatic locking function that helps him feel secure whenever he steps away from the vehicle.
For anyone who regularly navigates Metro Manila traffic, comfort can be just as important as performance. Paras says the cabin experience is one of the BAIC’s biggest strengths.
“My body doesn’t hurt from a long drive. It’s so quiet that you’ll forget about the traffic. And it’s easy to maintain.”
That balance of ride comfort and manageable ownership costs is especially important for someone who frequently transitions between daily city driving and longer out-of-town trips.
The SUV has also become a favorite among his family. With its spacious cabin, generous cargo capacity, and safety features, Paras says it’s usually the first choice whenever they’re planning a day out.
“They’re always excited to use my car whenever we go out.”
Beyond practicality, Paras also points to the vehicle’s design and features as reasons it stands out.
“The style and features are way updated. It’s like owning a European car.”
When asked what he would say to fellow executives and business owners considering their next SUV, his answer was straightforward.
“All you’re looking for in an SUV is here.”
As BAIC continues to expand its presence in the Philippines, the brand is steadily growing both its dealer network and product lineup. Models such as the B30e Dune, B40e Trailmaster rEV, and B60e Beaumont reflect the company’s push to offer a broader range of vehicles for Filipino drivers.
For Paras, however, the appeal is simple. Whether he’s heading to work, taking a trip out of town, or spending time with family, it’s the vehicle he reaches for first.
