As someone who’s been riding and reviewing motorcycles across the Philippines for over a decade—through city traffic, provincial highways, and everything in between—I’ve seen the evolution of two-wheel mobility firsthand. After spending a full week and logging over 300 kilometers on the NRD D400, I can confidently say: this electric motorcycle isn’t just a futuristic concept—it’s a real, road-ready solution for Filipino riders today.
From the gridlocked streets of Fairview and Makati to the steep climbs and curves of Antipolo, the D400 handled every route with surprising ease. It didn’t just keep up—it delivered a riding experience that felt fresh, efficient, and genuinely exciting. For a country where motorcycles are a daily lifeline, the D400 proves that electric mobility is not only feasible—it’s finally practical for our traffic, terrain, and lifestyle.
Power Meets Precision
At the heart of the D400 is a 4000W electric motor, built to deliver exceptional power and acceleration. With a top speed of 90 KPH, it’s more than capable of keeping pace with internal combustion engine bikes on roads and overtaking in city traffic.
The torque delivery is instant and smooth—no clutch, no gears, just twist and go. It’s the kind of ride that makes you rethink what motorcycles should feel like.
Dual Battery System: Swap or Charge
The D400 comes equipped with two swappable batteries, each offering around 90 km of range, giving you a combined distance of up to 180 km on a full charge.

Over the course of my 300 km test, I only needed to charge twice, thanks to smart energy management and the convenience of the NRD App, which helped me locate charging stations and monitor battery status in real time.
Charging was seamless, but I do hope NRD expands its Ridebox Battery Locker Network soon. More swap stations would make longer rides even more practical, especially for riders who rely on their bikes for work, delivery, or provincial travel.
The NRD 400 redefines comfort and utility in its class with a generously wide, high-quality cushion seat designed for both rider and passenger.

Engineered for long-distance travel and daily commutes alike, the plush seating offers superior support and grip, making every ride smooth and fatigue-free. As a standard feature, the NRD 400 also comes equipped with a Motorcycle Rear Seat Luggage Rack, adding practical storage for gear, bags, or accessories. Enhancing its modern appeal, the scooter includes USB Type-C and Type-A charging ports conveniently located near the handlebar, allowing riders to power up devices on the go—whether it’s for navigation, communication, or entertainment.
Built for Real Roads
The D400 isn’t just a tech showcase—it’s a well-built motorcycle designed for Filipino roads. The front and rear disc brakes with Combined Braking System (CBS) offer solid stopping power, though I’d recommend better tires to match the bike’s performance. Suspension handled potholes and uneven surfaces with ease, and the riding position kept me comfortable even during longer stretches.
The digital dash, LED lighting, and sleek design give it a futuristic vibe without sacrificing functionality. It’s affordable somewhat cheaper than gasoline counterparts and even more economical to operate over time.
Financing & Resale Ready
NRD makes ownership effortless with low downpayment and flexible monthly financing through trusted partner institutions. And when it’s time to upgrade or resell, there’s no need to worry about battery removal or replacement. Thanks to NRD’s battery leasing model, the battery remains with the unit and is simply transferred to the new owner—ensuring it’s always fresh, optimized, and hassle-free. It’s clean, convenient, and built for long-term value.
Why Electric Motorcycles Make Sense—Now
In a country where motorcycles are lifelines for millions as a rider and as a client, the shift to electric is no longer a luxury—it’s a necessity. With rising fuel prices, growing environmental concerns, and the demand for smarter transport, bikes like the NRD D400 are leading the way.
My week with the D400 wasn’t just a test—it was a real-world ride through the future of Filipino mobility. And that future looks clean, quiet, and incredibly capable.
