ACMobility, the country’s leading provider of electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions, has taken another major step toward electrifying Philippine roads by launching its northernmost EV charging station in Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte. In partnership with the Ilocos Norte Electric Cooperative Inc. (INEC), this latest addition marks a milestone not only in geography but also in innovation—representing ACMobility’s first collaboration with a distribution utility (DU) to power fast-charging infrastructure.
“ACMobility has always believed in the power of partnerships,” said Carla Buencamino, Head of Mobility Infrastructure at ACMobility. “Working with INEC allows us to bring sustainable and convenient mobility solutions to more Filipinos—especially in underserved, far-reaching communities. This station brings us one step closer to a more connected and electrified future.”
A Strategic Location, A Smart Partnership
Nestled at the Agua Grande Mini Hydro Power Plant in Barangay Panziann, this new station is a game-changer for Ilocos Norte. As the province’s first EV charging station, it’s built to serve residents, tourists, and long-distance travelers alike—with a DC fast charger featuring two charge points.
Powering the station are Masinloc Power Partners Co. Ltd. (MPPCL) and GNPower Dinginin Ltd. Co. (GNPD), with INEC providing the critical groundwork as the local DU. This collaboration is a first-of-its-kind model that demonstrates how electric cooperatives can play a vital role in enabling robust EV infrastructure across the country.
This initiative also sets a precedent for future expansion, showcasing the potential of public-private partnerships in transforming the country’s transport landscape—especially in rural and provincial areas.
Pagudpud: A Key Point in the EV Journey
Famous for its pristine coastlines, rich cultural heritage, and dynamic tourism, Ilocos Norte is an ideal location for advancing EV infrastructure. With this new charging station, motorists can now explore more of the north without range anxiety, creating seamless connections between city centers and remote destinations.
During the station’s ceremonial launch, Ilocos Norte Governor Matthew Marcos Manotoc emphasized the province’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and renewable energy. He lauded the ACMobility–INEC partnership, recognizing its role in promoting innovation, eco-friendly transport, and regional development.
Strengthening the Philippine EV Spine Network
This new station is a crucial link in ACMobility’s Philippine EV Spine, a growing nationwide ecosystem of charging stations designed to support long-distance electric travel from Luzon to Mindanao. With this expansion into the far north, ACMobility continues its mission to make sustainable travel a reality for all Filipinos.
As of May 2025, ACMobility operates in 96 locations with 226 charge points nationwide. More than 10 new sites are scheduled to go live this month alone, with a target of 700+ charge points by year-end.
ACMobility’s infrastructure is powered by Evro, its eMobility service platform partner. Through the Evro app, EV users can:
-
Locate nearby charging stations
-
Start and monitor charging sessions
-
Pay digitally with ease
-
Access exclusive savings via ACMobility membership plans, offering up to 20% discounts
These features make it simple and rewarding for EV owners to travel sustainably—without sacrificing cost, convenience, or performance.
“Each new station strengthens our momentum,” Buencamino added. “By connecting the farthest corners of the country through our EV Spine network, we’re building a future where every Filipino can confidently take the road ahead, powered by clean energy, smart infrastructure, and inclusive mobility.”

The INEC EV Charging Station is open daily from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
