On February 15, 2025, a momentous event took place at the Burgos Municipal Hall, where Sojitz Fuso Philippines Corporation (SFP), in partnership with its dealer HMEN Motors – FUSO Pangasinan, proudly handed over a fleet of 27 FUSO Canter FE73 Drop-side units to the local government of Burgos, Ilocos Sur. This gesture was part of the Farmer’s Day celebration, an annual festival honoring the hardworking farmers of Burgos for their invaluable contributions to the agricultural and economic development of both Ilocos Sur and the Philippines.
The 27 FUSO Canter FE73 Drop-side trucks will be allocated across Burgos’ 26 barangays, with one additional unit designated for municipal use. These vehicles will play a crucial role in supporting the region’s agricultural activities, offering farmers a reliable means to transport goods, thereby boosting productivity in the area.
Renowned for its durability, reliability, and versatility, the FUSO Canter is perfectly suited for the demands of the agricultural sector. With a gross vehicle weight (GVW) of 4,490 kg, the Canter ensures farmers in Burgos can efficiently transport their produce, tools, and materials. Powered by a 4P10-WAT2 Common Rail Turbocharged Intercooled Diesel engine, the Canter delivers a maximum power output of 131 PS and a torque of 350 N-m, making it ideal for hauling agricultural products like rice, vegetables, and other crops. The drop-side bodies installed on these units, built to FUSO’s stringent truck body standards, will enhance the vehicles’ durability and resilience to the daily challenges of farming operations, offering a practical and efficient solution to the farming community.
“We extend our gratitude to the local government of Burgos for choosing FUSO as your trusted partner in advancing agricultural progress,” said Mr. Yosuke Nishi, President & CEO of SFP. “We take immense pride in supporting our local farmers, who play a pivotal role in the economy of Burgos and Ilocos Sur. Looking ahead, we remain committed to providing solutions that foster progress and empower industries. We eagerly anticipate continuing to support impactful initiatives for many years. Ayos, Burgos!”
