Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) proudly celebrated a major milestone with the successful staging of the 20th Isuzu Service Skills Olympics (ISSO) on April 26, 2025. Far more than a competition, this landmark event showcased two decades of dedication to technical mastery and customer-focused service, reinforcing Isuzu’s reputation not only as the country’s number one truck brand but also as a “Responsible Partner” in aftersales excellence.
Held annually across its national dealer network, the ISSO serves as a dynamic platform for professional development, where IPC challenges its frontliners to rise above industry standards and embrace innovation. This year’s theme, “Honoring Skills, Gearing the Future,” captured the spirit of the event—paying tribute to the craftsmanship that built Isuzu’s legacy while preparing its workforce for the ever-evolving demands of the modern automotive landscape.
“This year’s ISSO isn’t just a celebration—it’s a call to leadership,” said IPC President Mikio Tsukui. “As we mark 20 years of developing world-class service professionals, we also look forward—to a future where our people continue to be the difference-makers in customer experience.”
A Test of Talent, Teamwork, and Technical Expertise
The ISSO tested the skills of aftersales personnel across three critical categories: Parts Staff, Service Advisor, and Service Technician. Each segment was designed not only to assess technical proficiency but also to emphasize customer care, communication, and critical thinking under pressure—hallmarks of the Isuzu service standard.
-
Parts Staff Category participants demonstrated accuracy and agility in parts identification, mastery of the Parts Business Online Portal, and a deep understanding of inventory systems essential to timely customer support.
-
Service Advisors were evaluated on real-world interactions, from customer reception to service recommendations—highlighting both technical knowledge and consultative communication.
-
Service Technicians went hands-on with actual Isuzu Light Commercial Vehicles (LCVs) and Commercial Vehicles (CVs), showcasing diagnostic accuracy, repair skills, and composure under time constraints.
