KYMCO unveils its first maxi adventure scooter at EICMA 2024: the KYMCO CV-R5, debuting with a distinctive look featuring geometric shapes and sharp lines. CV-R5 is KYMCO’s latest innovation, bringing a fresh approach to the rapidly growing ADV segment. It combines the rugged appeal of rally bikes with the practicality of a scooter, creating a standout in both design and functionality.
Inspired by the iconic Dakar rally, CV-R5 merges form and function with comfort and practicality, appealing to riders looking for something that dares to break convention. Its silhouette is characterized by a front with a full LED headlight. Other distinctive elements include a high, uncovered handlebar, handguards, and a sporty exhaust.
The high central tunnel flows into the seat, at 800 mm from the ground. Underneath, there is enough space to store a full-face or crossover helmet. The CV-R5’s features include Keyless start, a color TFT display with connectivity, ABS, traction control, and tire pressure monitoring.
The KYMCO CV-R5 is powered by a 427 cc single-cylinder engine with multi-map ride-by-wire. It delivers a maximum power of 34.4 HP and a peak torque of 40 Nm. It features a CVT automatic transmission, with final chain drive like that of adventure motorcycles. The frame places the engine centrally, while the suspension setup includes an inverted fork and a monoshock with PTM (Pivoting Torque Management) system. The CV-R5 weighs 210 kg, with alloy wheels equipped with semi-knobby tires, sized 120/70-15 at the front and 150/70-14 at the rear.
