Motolite Elite meets after long hiatus, officially launches their new line of Excel Series, EFB and AGM

Motolite’s commitment to its customers has now released its 2 top-of-the-line batteries as part of its premium Excel line. The Excel EFB and Excel AGM is now available in the market.

The newly launched Motolite Excel series have their own set of strengths and weaknesses to which its catered to what and how you use your vehicle on a daily basis. Designed to use optimum power delivery for premium automobiles. The Motolite Excel us a high-purity electrolyte that is formulated to minimize water loss and slow down self-discharge in extreme temperatures caused by the heat of the engine combined with the excessive tropical heat in the country. A specially formulated paste is use to increase craning capability and cycle endurance. With thick, rigid, full-framed positive and negative grids with wire architecture to optimized for current delivery for better mechanical endurance and high corrosion resistance. Battery cell designs with snug fitting elements that improve the vibration resistance and increase mechanical durability, preventing short circuits to the vehicles electronics. Excel is available in a broad selection of sizes including DIN sizes that are usually use by European, Korean, American, Chinese, and some Japanese vehicles.

The Motolite Excel EFB (Enhanced Flooded Battery) is engineered to work with start-stop features on vehicles to enjoy longer battery life.

The Motolite Excel AGM ( Absorbent Glass Mat) has separators which absorb the electrolyte, critical in enabling oxygen-hydrogen recombination thus making the battery spill-proof. Long service life due to the valve-regulated exhaust keeping optimal pressure temperature. Pure lead (99.99%) grids and connectors which aid in oxygen retention improving power delivery through the optimized punch grid technology.

AGM EFB
Hot Climate Fair Best
Cold Climate Best Fair
Shelf Life @25°C Best Good
Tited/Vibration Leak Resistance Best Fair
Water Loss @40°C Fair Best

These stem from differences in technologies. In EFB Batteries the oxygen, hydrogen, and water vapor to be released during the regular batter charge & during the discharge cycle. In time, this lowers the electrolyte level and requires topping off the demi-water. In the AGM Batteries it uses of the absorbent mat which allows it to store all the electrolytes in the system and counter the electrolyte loss. To suppress the water and hydrogen gas escaping from the battery reducing moisture loss.

This means that the AGM Batteries tend to retain moisture and electrolytes better. This means they lack the cooling effect of the electrolytes that the EFB Batteries enjoy, reducing their effectiveness in tropical climates. Every 10°C increase in temperature doubles the rate of reactivity in the AGM Batteries. This results in the increase gassing, hastened corrosion, and ultimately a shorter battery life.

Ultimately, it’s recommended that customers to use Excel AGM for cars that require AGM-type batteries as their OEM and to use Excel EFB if it required for their vehicle. This is to avoid the detrimental impact that unplanned excess heat migh thave on the AGM Battery installed in a space meant for an EFB Battery.

Motolite Batteries are backed by Motolite’s nationwide warranty coverage. Motolite Excel offers 24-month warranty. The Motolite Excel EFB offers an 18-month / 27-month Warranty (for start-stop vehicles/ conventional vehicles respectively). The Excel AGM offers a 21-month / 24-month warranty (for start-stop vehicles/for conventional vehicles respectively).

Aside from the introduction of their new battery models in the lineup, updates to their customer assistance mobile app was announced.

Motolite Res-Q, the mobile app serves as a roadside assistance platform for almost any breakdown that may occur. While battery assistance is the main purpose of the application. You can also use the app when you need assistance in fixing a flat tire, or your vehicle overheats, you can even call for extra fuel when your running low in areas covered by service.
