MOVE IT Becomes First Moto-Taxi Platform to Subsidize Pag-IBIG Contributions

MOVE IT is the first motorcycle taxi platform to subsidize the Pag-IBIG contributions of its riders

In a major step toward expanding social protection for platform workers, MOVE IT has become the first motorcycle taxi platform in the Philippines to subsidize Pag-IBIG Fund contributions for its top-performing rider-partners.

This trailblazing initiative provides qualifying riders in Metro Manila, Cebu, and Cagayan de Oro access to Pag-IBIG’s full suite of financial services — including affordable housing loans, short-term credit, and the high-yield MP2 savings program. The goal: to empower riders with long-term financial security, not just day-to-day income.

“Our riders have made it clear — beyond fair earnings, they want the freedom to choose the kind of social protection that fits their needs and aspirations,” said Wayne Jacinto, General Manager of MOVE IT. “By subsidizing Pag-IBIG contributions, we’re opening doors for them to build a safer, more secure future.”

How It Works

Top-performing riders — evaluated based on safety, service quality, and productivity — are eligible for the subsidy. To apply, riders simply link their Pag-IBIG Membership ID to their MOVE IT profile and submit their application through a dedicated portal in the driver app.

Pag-IBIG Fund, along with other social protection agencies, has a satellite office at the Grab and MOVE IT Asenso
Center in Marikina City, making it easier for partners of the platforms to apply for membership

Access Made Easier

In partnership with Pag-IBIG, SSS, and PhilHealth, MOVE IT and Grab have established a Social Protection Satellite Office at the Asenso Center in Marikina City — a centralized hub for training, onboarding, and welfare program enrollment for both two-wheel and four-wheel platform drivers.

The Asenso Center also offers Social Protection 101 sessions, aimed at helping riders understand the importance of voluntary contributions to their long-term financial well-being.

This move aligns with Grab’s earlier initiative, which began subsidizing Pag-IBIG contributions for GrabCar and GrabFood drivers in early 2025. Together, MOVE IT and Grab are setting a new standard for platform accountability by making welfare benefits more accessible to the country’s growing community of gig workers.
