Suzuki Philippines is stealing the spotlight at the Makina Moto Expo 2025 with a standout booth that’s quickly becoming the talk of the event. Bringing the excitement to a whole new level, Suzuki unveils the highly anticipated DR-Z4S and DR-Z4SM, pushing the limits of performance and innovation. Hot off their international debut at EICMA in November 2024, Suzuki has flown in test units from Japan for an exclusive preview of these next-generation dual-sport and supermoto motorcycles.
The DR-Z4S and DR-Z4SM represent a perfect fusion of advanced technology, exceptional performance, and Suzuki’s longstanding reputation for reliability. These models mark the latest evolution in Suzuki’s enduring legacy. “Built on 25 years of heritage, these motorcycles redefine the foundation of modern dual-sport riding. With fresh looks and innovative electronic systems, they set the direction for the future of dual-sport and supermoto design,” says Suzuki Philippines President, Kochiro Hirao.
Building on the legacy of the iconic DR-Z400S, which debuted in 2000 and became known for its agile handling and rugged performance, these new motorcycles are designed to bring decades of proven durability into the modern era. In 2005, Suzuki further expanded its lineup with the DR-Z400SM, a street-tuned supermoto beloved by urban riders for its sharper on-road performance. Now, the DR-Z4S and DR-Z4SM arrive, offering Filipino riders an enhanced experience, delivering more power, better control, and greater agility for the perfect balance between off-road exploration and on-road thrills.
The DR-Z4S is tailored for off-road enthusiasts, featuring a new pipe-steel twin-spar frame that boosts stability and agility across challenging terrains. Equipped with IRC dual-purpose tires, the DR-Z4S ensures superior grip on both off-road and on-road surfaces. Its upright riding position and optimized chassis geometry offer unmatched comfort and control, making it ideal for long rides and trail adventures. Meanwhile, the DR-Z4SM is designed for urban riders seeking street performance, with 17-inch wheels and IRC tires engineered for precision cornering and exceptional traction—perfect for city streets and supermoto tracks.
Both models are equipped with the Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (S.I.R.S.), which includes advanced technologies such as the Suzuki Drive Mode Selector (SDMS) and the Suzuki Traction Control System (STCS), featuring a Gravel mode for off-road riding. The Ride-by-Wire electronic throttle system ensures smooth, responsive acceleration, while front and rear disc brakes with switchable ABS offer enhanced safety across various riding conditions. The sleek bodywork, along with a LED projector headlight, gives both bikes a modern and aggressive aesthetic.
Suzuki Philippines executives have hinted that the DR-Z4S and DR-Z4SM are expected to arrive within the year, though exact details are still under wraps. Excitement is building among riders, eagerly awaiting the arrival of these cutting-edge models on the sales floor.
The Suzuki Hub at the expo also showcases a wide range of bikes to suit every rider’s needs. Highlights include the adventure-ready V-Strom 1050 DE, V-Strom 800 DE, and V-Strom 250 SX, alongside street models like the GSX-S1000, GSX-S1000GT, and GSX-S1000GX. For sportbike enthusiasts, there’s the legendary Hayabusa, GSX-8R, GSX-8S, GIXXER SF155, and GIXXER 155, demonstrating Suzuki’s diverse lineup, catering to all types of riders.
Suzuki continues to push the boundaries of performance and innovation, celebrating its 50th Anniversary in the Philippines by delivering exceptional motorcycles to Filipino riders. With this commitment to providing the best mobility solutions, Suzuki ensures it will be by riders’ sides for every journey—both on and off the road.
