Chevron Philippines Inc. (CPI), marketer of Caltex fuels and lubricants, together with the Caltex Makati Credit Cooperative (CMCC), partnered with Guanella Center, Inc. to celebrate Volunteer Day 2025 by spending meaningful time with persons with disabilities (PWDs). The initiative reflects Chevron’s ongoing commitment to diversity, inclusion, and uplifting underserved communities in the Philippines.
Volunteers from CPI and CMCC bonded with resident beneficiaries through fun games, shared meals, and heartfelt conversations. Each participant received eco-friendly jute bags filled with essential apparel—shirts, shorts, and underwear—alongside Chevron-branded backpacks. The highlight of the day came when beneficiaries surprised the volunteers with lively dance performances to “Golden” from KPop Demon Hunters and NSYNC’s “Bye Bye Bye,” filling the room with joy and energy.
Albert Ramos, Guanella Center Supervisor, emphasized the importance of these interactions: “This Volunteer Day is important because the beneficiaries are happy when they see new faces at Guanella Home.

We hope volunteers realize that children with special needs also need care and compassion from people outside the shelter.”
CMCC Chairperson Marife Jose echoed this sentiment, underscoring Chevron’s mission to empower individuals with special needs: “There’s a special place in our hearts for these individuals whose experiences in society are often marked by added challenges. We want them to feel valued and happy and let them know that there are people who care and respect them.”
For Pongtorn “Bon” Tangmanuswong, newly appointed CPI General Manager and Country Manager, it was his first Volunteer Day in the Philippines. He highlighted how simple acts—like sharing food and music—can bridge cultures and foster inclusion: “We want this advocacy to go beyond a one-day activity. It’s part of our mission to create inclusive spaces for everyone, regardless of background or circumstances. Our programs must continue to help people lead dignified, independent lives.”
This year’s Volunteer Day builds on Chevron’s long-standing advocacy for inclusion. In 2024, CPI and CMCC partnered with My Children’s House of Hope Bahay Bata 127 Inc. to learn sign language and connect with deaf children, further demonstrating Chevron’s commitment to creating spaces where everyone feels seen, valued, and supported.
