Chevron Powers AmCham’s 11th ScholaCOLORun to Champion Filipino Scholars

Chevron employees ran in this year’s AmCham ScholaCOLORun at the CCP Complex in Pasay City, showcasing their commitment to health, teamwork, and community spirit.

It wasn’t just a run—it was a race toward brighter futures. This year’s 11th ScholaCOLORun, hosted by the American Chamber Foundation Philippines, Inc. (AmCham), turned the CCP Complex in Pasay City into a vibrant sea of runners, color, and community spirit, with Chevron once again stepping up as a proud platinum sponsor.

Chevron employees from Chevron Philippines Inc. (CPI) and Chevron Holdings Inc. (CHI) showed up in full force, with 290 team members lacing up to support education through motion. All told, 3,458 runners came together for one common goal: to help send 109 underprivileged Filipino students to school.

A Long-Running Commitment to Education

Chevron’s partnership with AmCham goes beyond sponsorship—it’s a shared mission. For more than 15 years, both organizations have collaborated to expand access to education in the Philippines, already supporting over 2,400 scholars through tuition assistance, allowances, and career-building support.

AmCham President Edwin Feist recalled the vision that started it all: “We knew that education was a key to breaking the cycle of poverty. That’s why we created initiatives like the ScholaCOLORun—to fund scholarships and help students focus on their dreams instead of financial burdens.”

And Chevron didn’t just sign a check—they showed up. “Chevron shares our belief that education is transformative. Their long-standing partnership has helped us scale our efforts and reach more students every year,” Feist added.

More Than a Run—It’s a Movement

For CHI General Manager Ethan Flowers, investing in education is also about building a better future for the country and the company: “At Chevron, we believe education fuels progress. It’s the backbone of the work we do and the services we deliver around the world. Supporting AmCham means we’re also helping build a more capable, empowered Filipino workforce.”

Chevron also fielded one of the largest delegations at the event. “It’s incredible to see so many employees choosing to stay active while giving back,” Flowers said. “It’s wellness with impact.”

Making Every Step Count

For participants like Emil Bertolano and Mico Fetalvero, the run is personal.

Bertolano, a four-time ScholaCOLORun participant, said, “You get to stay fit and support a great cause at the same time. It’s like hitting two birds with one stone.”

Fetalvero added, “Public schools are often underfunded—there’s a shortage of supplies and infrastructure. Events like this help fill in the gaps, giving students and teachers a better shot at success.”

Chevron: Fueling Minds, Empowering Futures

With every stride, splash of color, and scholarship raised, Chevron reaffirms its commitment to building stronger communities through education. It’s a pledge that goes beyond fun runs and into long-term partnerships—with AmCham, with educators, and with the next generation of leaders.
