Was MotoStreat Misrepresented?

Bonifacio Global City has been receiving a lot of backlash from a recent controversy that involves a fake news that circulated online without proper info verification from the property management.

In 2021, BGC opened up a portion of Bonifacio High Street to accommodate motorcycle enthusiasts to dine, hang-out and enjoy the city vibe. MotoStreat is perfect for those who want to kill some time, talk about motorcycles and admire bikes parked in the area.
In 2023, BGC announced it’s first closure order because of a certain incident of an unsanctioned event that created a ruckus, unnecessary rev-bombing, which racked up a lot of complaints from residents and nearby establishments. There are also reports that MotoStreat is being used as a parking space for employees nearby.
According to a top Ayala executive, these reports defeat the purpose of offering a complimentary forum to further enhance the motorcycling lifestyle and build a community of enthusiasts.
After the closure of MotoStreat, several events have been held on the open air venue with the proper blessings of the BGC management. One of them being a motorcycle related event.
Just recently, BGC called out a certain ‘MotoStreat’ Facebook page that posed as an official page that spread rumors and fake news about re-opening the area, but limited to big bikes and Vespa scooters only. BGC has been the receiving end of counteraction, portraying the property as ‘elitist’ and ‘discriminatory’.
Netizens were quick to fact check rumors, and the now deleted ‘MotoStreat’ fake page claimed that it served only as a ‘fan page’. Not only it created confusion, but acted as a faux organizing body bearing BGC’s brand that damaged its reputation to the motorcycling community. There we’re also reports of selling counterfeit merch using the Motostreat brand without the expressed consent of BGC management. Was it intended for personal interests?
The entire controversy is a big misrepresentation without consent that led to misguided counteraction from people concerned.
Do you think it should be re-opened? What changes should be made to make it right for the benefit of everyone?
