The Motul-supported Niterra Motul Z achieved their first victory during last weekend’s Autobacs Super GT Round 4 at the Fuji International Speedway held from August 5th to 6th. Mitsunori Takaboshi (JPN) and Katsumasa Chiyo (JPN) piloted the #3 Nissan Z GT500 with remarkable prowess, surging through the ranks to claim the coveted top spot on the podium. With a long-standing partnership of over 20 years with Nissan, Motul’s dedication to developing high performance products played a pivotal role in the team’s and manufacturer’s triumphant success at the highly competitive Japanese touring car series.
As the race commenced at this iconic 4.55 km track; light showers, dark clouds and a gloomy atmosphere was casted over the track. The #3 Niterra MOTUL Z team faced an immense challenge, starting from P4 on the grid. However, Chiyo demonstrated exceptional speed in the race’s early stages, propelling them to the forefront of the field. Undeterred by the challenging weather conditions, the Nissan Z GT500 displayed an awe-inspiring resurgence, swiftly seizing the lead by capitalizing on the enhanced performance provided by Motul 300V, an extraordinary lubricant that has proven to improve engine performance and reliability by reducing wear and friction across a wide temperature range. Motul 300V is the ideal lubricant for unpredictable conditions as it optimizes lubrication in extreme weather, with advanced additives for cold start protection, temperature stability, and engine cleanliness, extending lifespan and maintaining performance.

Since 2003, the partnership between Nissan and Motul has forged an extraordinary alliance, leveraging their collective expertise to develop products that optimize the performance of the Nissan Z GT500. The co-branded NISMO (Nissan Motorsport) products have provided superior durability and performance to not only race teams but also everyday Nissan owners for several years. Motul’s philosophy to deliver the highest grade of products for its discerning customers is propelled by their ongoing research and development, where they strive to constantly refine the formulation of such products. This is assisted through the findings of the lubricants’ performance on track, where Motul’s products are pushed to the absolute maximum. With the use of such invaluable data, Motul’s technical teams are able to tailor the products to suit the unique demands of Asian climates.
Over the course of the season, NISMO teams make use of the Motul NISMO Competition oil in the Nissan Z GT500 to amplify their efforts of victory on track. This collaboration and the use of tailor made products, ultimately propelled Takaboshi and Chiyo to a resounding victory. With the maiden victory of the season for the Motul-propelled team, they have managed to string together a flourish of points finishes and now sit on the top of the teams’ and drivers’ championships. As the 2023 Super GT season reaches its halfway point, the remarkable success of the #3 Niterra MOTUL Z team offers a glimpse into the powerful synergy between Nissan and Motul.
The AUTOBACS SUPER GT series will hold its fifth round at the Suzuka Circuit on August 26th to 27th, 2023.
