Pinnacle Motorsport returns to the track this weekend as the Spanish F4 Championship heads to the Circuito de Navarra for the second event of 2021. The Motorsport Ireland-licensed team are committed to repeat their stellar performance at the curtain raiser last month, aiming to score more podium finishes with their young driver Alex Dunne.
The 15-year-old impressed on his series debut after claiming pole position during his very first outing in single-seaters. The young Irishman then proceeded to convert this into a 3rd place finish at Spa-Francorchamps. Although some misfortune and lengthy safety car periods prevented him from adding to his collection of trophies that weekend, his strong showing was enough to get his talent noticed and place him 5th overall in the championship standings.
Pinnacle Motorsport and Dunne will be looking to improve on this with hopes of achieving their first win in Spanish F4 this weekend. The schedule will see Free Practice, Qualifying, and Race 1 all take place on Saturday, while Race 2 and Race 3 follows on Sunday afternoon.
Alex Dunne: “We’ve been to Navarra twice now and I’m happy that we are in even better shape than we were at the opening event of the season. My aim this weekend is to battle at the front once again and pick up another strong haul of championship points. I have a lot more knowledge now and I will be much better prepared for the race weekend format as well as what to expect in the races.”
John O’Hara, Team Director: “We enjoyed a good start to the season at Spa. Alex impressed the team by taking pole position in qualifying followed by a podium finish. This also allowed Pinnacle Motorsport to shine during our Spanish F4 debut. But the key now is to be able to carry that momentum to the next event at Navarra.”
Accompanying Pinnacle Motorsport on their Spanish F4 Championship are partners KCMG and Motorsport Ireland.
