Yamaha is proud to announce a new collaboration with Politecnico di Milano (PoliMi)—one of Europe’s top engineering universities—through its Yamaha Campus in Gerno di Lesmo. As part of this initiative, Yamaha has been named main sponsor of the PoliMi Motorcycle Factory team, supporting their entry in the MotoStudent competition and the upcoming Italian Speed Championship (CIV) Moto3 class with a new electric prototype.
Founded in 2015, the PoliMi Motorcycle Factory is a student-led program that offers hands-on motorsport engineering experience to young innovators across disciplines—from engineering and design to architecture. Over 400 students have already contributed to the project, building competitive prototype motorcycles and gaining real-world exposure on international stages.
The partnership is a natural fit for Yamaha, whose Campus brings together expertise from its MotoGP and WorldSBK Racing divisions, R&D, Music, and Sales & Marketing under one innovative roof. The Campus aims to foster cross-disciplinary creativity, making it an ideal environment to support the next generation of motorsports engineers and designers.
Earlier this year, PoliMi students visited the Yamaha Campus for a preview of their 2025 Moto3 prototype—powered by a Yamaha YZF450 engine and entirely developed in-house by the team. The Yamaha Campus logo will be prominently featured throughout the 2025 racing season on both the MotoStudent electric bike and the Moto3 entry, as well as across team branding and materials.
This partnership is more than a sponsorship—it’s a bridge between academic excellence and professional racing. It embodies Yamaha’s long-term vision of nurturing talent, accelerating innovation, and advancing sustainability within a dynamic, collaborative ecosystem.
Michele Gadda, Engineering Manager, Yamaha Motor Racing
“At Yamaha Campus, we believe in the power of collaboration, innovation, and sustainability—values that are deeply aligned with the PoliMi Motorcycle Factory project. Supporting this initiative not only reflects our mission to invest in future talent, but it also strengthens our company culture by creating direct connections between academic learning and real-world motorsport challenges. It’s about building a bridge for the engineers and designers of tomorrow.”
Marco Belloli, Head of Department of Mechanical Engineering, Politecnico di Milano
“We are thrilled to have Yamaha Campus as a sponsor of the PoliMi Motorcycle Factory. This partnership represents more than just recognition—it validates the hard work, passion, and dedication of our students. It exemplifies the essence of our School of Engineering: combining strong theoretical foundations with immersive, hands-on learning in a competitive and rewarding environment.”
