On a bright Sunday morning, more than 50 classic and vintage cars rolled out in style for the Distinguished Gentleman’s Drive Manila, a global charity event with a powerful message: men’s health matters.
Dressed in dapper suits and timeless charm, drivers gathered at Blue Bay Walk, Macapagal, then cruised through the heart of the city to Ayala Malls Circuit Makati, turning heads and sparking conversations along the way. The route through Makati’s iconic streets wasn’t just scenic—it was symbolic. It reminded everyone watching that behind every polished chrome and tailored jacket is a man who deserves care, support, and awareness.
This year’s drive raised funds and awareness for men’s mental health and prostate cancer research, two causes that affect millions but are often left in the shadows. The event encouraged men to speak up, check in, and take charge of their well-being—with style and solidarity.
“I’ve been part of the Distinguished Gentleman’s Drive from the very beginning, and every year it reminds me why we do this,” said Neal Medrano, Organizer of DGD Manila.
“It’s not just about the cars—it’s about the people. It’s about showing up for men who are silently struggling. We drive to raise awareness, to start conversations, and to let every man know he’s not alone.”
“Men’s health—both physical and mental—deserves our full attention,” said Ami Valdemoro Diaz, wellness advocate and specialist. “Too often, men suffer in silence or delay seeking help. But something as simple as a routine test can detect prostate cancer early and save lives. Just as we encourage open conversations about mental health, we must also normalize regular checkups and proactive care. Every man deserves to feel strong, supported, and seen—not just in body, but in mind and spirit.”
After the customary welcome speeches by Neal Medrano and Jimmy Barinaga, proprietor of B Billiard Hall & Bar. Atty. Robby Consunji, trustee of the Automobile Association Philippines (AAP) and head of the Philippine arm of the FIA and Vintage Car Committee.
“Vintage and heritage cars are more than just vehicles—they’re storytellers on wheels,” said Atty. Robby Consunji. “Preserving them means honoring the artistry, history, and identity they represent. These cars connect generations, and every drive is a celebration of where we’ve been and how far we’ve come.”
“The Vintage Car Law, now three years in effect, offers a crucial lifeline for owners of vehicles 40 years or older,” said Atty. Robby Consunji. “Many of these vehicles have lost their original registration documents over time, but that shouldn’t mean the end of their story. With the April 2026 deadline fast approaching, owners now have a legal pathway to restore and register their vintage cars—preserving not just the vehicle, but the heritage it represents. These cars are living history, and this law ensures they remain part of our roads, our culture, and our collective memory.”
The drive culminated at Ayala Malls Circuit Makati, where the community was welcomed with open arms.
“At Ayala Malls Circuit Makati, we believe in creating spaces that inspire and welcome everyone,” said the Pat Maghirang of Ayala Malls Circuit Makati. “Supporting the Distinguished Gentleman’s Drive is deeply aligned with our values. It’s more than a celebration of style and classic cars—it’s a powerful movement for men’s mental health and prostate cancer awareness.”
“Driving my lime green 1969 Ford Mustang 200ci in the Distinguished Gentleman’s Drive isn’t just about honoring automotive heritage—it’s about standing up for something bigger,” said Reph Bangsil.
“Men’s health matters, and if a simple drive can spark conversations and support research for prostate cancer, then every kilometer is worth it. This car carries history, but today, it also carries hope—for every man who needs to be reminded that he’s not alone.”
“Driving my 1976 Mercedes-Benz 280E Limousine in the Distinguished Gentleman’s Drive is a tribute to timeless craftsmanship—but today, it’s also a vehicle for change,” said Marc Martinez of Marcars Trading Corp.
“This W123 body carries decades of elegance and engineering, but on this drive, it carries something even more important: a message that men’s health matters. Supporting prostate cancer research and mental wellness is a cause close to my heart. If a classic car can spark conversation, raise awareness, and inspire action, then every turn of the wheel becomes a step toward a healthier future for all men.”
“This 1951 GMC Pick-up has been my workhorse for years, but today it’s driving a different kind of purpose,” said Alfred Perez, participant in the Distinguished Gentleman’s Drive.
“I’m proud to bring it out not just as a classic, but as a symbol of hard work, resilience, and care—for men’s health, for prostate cancer research, and for the message that every man, no matter his age or background, deserves support. Sometimes the most meaningful drives aren’t about where you’re going, but why you’re going there.”
“Driving my 1978 US-version Toyota Corolla in the Distinguished Gentleman’s Drive is more than nostalgia—it’s a statement that men’s health matters at every age,” said Roehl Restrivera.
“This car may be vintage, but the message it carries is timeless. Mental wellness and early detection of prostate cancer shouldn’t be topics reserved for older men—they should be part of the conversation for the younger generation too. We drive not just for style, but for solidarity. If this classic can spark awareness and inspire someone to check in with themselves or a loved one, then every kilometer becomes a step toward a healthier, more compassionate future.”
“Every time I take my 1928 Ford Model A out on the road, especially during the Distinguished Gentleman’s Drive, I’m reminded that some things—like style, purpose, and compassion—never go out of fashion,” said Rodger Yu, a proud supporter since the inaugural drive. “This car has seen nearly a century of history, and now it’s part of a movement that’s driving awareness for men’s health.
Whether it’s mental wellness or prostate cancer research, these are issues that deserve attention, no matter your age or background. I may be cruising through the metro in a vintage machine, but the message I carry is modern and urgent: every man deserves to be seen, heard, and cared for.”
“Driving my 1987 Lancer GT in the Distinguished Gentleman’s Drive isn’t just about celebrating classic car culture—it’s about driving with purpose,” said Manny Martinez, proud member of the Oldschooler Club of the Philippines and a supporter of DGD Manila since its inaugural run.
“Year after year, I show up not just for the love of vintage machines, but for the message this drive carries: that men’s health—especially mental wellness and prostate cancer awareness—matters at every age. Even at this stage in life, I know how important it is to speak up, check in, and support one another. Because being a gentleman isn’t just about how you dress or what you drive—it’s about how you care.”
“Driving my 1970 Mini Cooper in the Distinguished Gentleman’s Drive is personal—it’s a celebration of style, community, and purpose,” said Marco Clemente, car and motorcycle enthusiast and founder of MC CUSTOMS PH / T3 PRODUCTIONS.
“As someone who’s supported the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride for years, being part of the Drive adds a new layer of meaning. It’s not just about men’s health—it’s about showing up, creating space for conversations, and reminding every man that he’s part of something bigger. Whether on two wheels or four, we drive to inspire, connect, and make a difference.”
The final stop at B Billiard Hall and Bar was a fitting close to a purposeful journey.
“Being part of the Distinguished Gentleman’s Drive is more than just hosting the finish line—it’s about standing up for something that truly matters. I’ve supported the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride for years, and now with the Drive, we continue the mission to raise awareness for men’s mental health and prostate cancer research.
At B Billiard Hall and Bar, we’re proud to welcome this community of passionate advocates, stylish drivers, and everyday heroes. It’s an honor to be the final stop on a journey that drives purpose with every mile.” — Jimmy Barinaga, Owner of B Billiard Hall and Bar.
The Distinguished Gentleman’s Drive Manila 2025 proved that elegance and empathy can share the road—and that every mile driven moves us closer to a healthier, more connected future for all men.
