The Philippine motorcycle industry continues to rev up through 2025, with the latest figures from the Motorcycle Development Program Participants Association, Inc. (MDPPA) showing strong and steady growth in unit sales across the country.
From January to August 2025, the industry recorded 1,227,160 units sold, marking an 11.8% increase compared to the 1,098,056 units sold during the same period last year. August alone saw 158,228 units sold, a sharp 18.4% jump from August 2024’s 133,689 units — a clear sign that motorcycles remain the go-to mobility solution for millions of Filipinos.
Mobility Meets Demand
The surge is driven by the continued demand for affordable, fuel-efficient, and traffic-busting transportation. With urban congestion worsening and delivery services booming, motorcycles have become more than just a ride — they’re a lifeline.
“Despite declines in some segments, the industry as a whole remains in a healthy position,” said Engr. Alexander A. Cumpas, President of MDPPA. “This positive growth trajectory is a testament to the enduring relevance and growing importance of motorcycles in the everyday lives of Filipinos.”
Earlier this year, MDPPA projected a 5% overall growth for 2025, citing strong consumer demand, expanding logistics services, and the practicality of motorcycles for daily commuting.
