Arguably the toughest and most anticipated endurance race of the year was held a couple weekends ago, from the 11th to the 12th of June 2022 at the Circuit des 24 Heures du Mans, also known as Circuit de la Sarthe located in Le Mans, Sarthe, France. For Motul, it’s an extremely important event, supporting teams across the various classes with high performance lubricants that are indispensable at a grueling race such as this. The race is infamous for notorious climate and challenging conditions that the drivers battle for the entirety of 24 hours, pushing the cars to the limit constantly.
One of the biggest appeals of the twice-round-the-clock is the number of different classes and categories that race together. At the very top of the chain is the Le Mans Hypercar (LMH) in which Motul is the official lubricant partner for Glickenhaus Racing. The team is a regular contender for the overall win, with their two car entry of the #708 and #709 Glickenhaus 007 LMH. Motul launched the brand new 300V at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2021 and has been working closely with the American team to improve their flagship product. After 24 hours of racing, the #709 car driven by Ryan Briscoe, Richard Westbrook and Franck Mailleux secured an incredible P3 finish, giving Motul a well-deserved spot on the podium.

In the Le Mans Prototype 2 (LMP2) category, Motul teams dominated the show in both the all-Pro and Pro-Am classes. Jota Sport’s Motul-powered Oreca 07 – Gibson achieved a brilliant double podium with the #38 in P1 and #28 in P3. Similarly, in the LMP2 Pro-Am class, the winning team Algrave Pro Racing and the team in P2, Nielsen Racing both used Motul lubrication in their cars.

This year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans was extra special for Motul, with the final chicane of the circuit officially being renamed to “Virage du Raccordement Motul” on the 7th of June 2022. With this, the iconic red and white Motul logo has cemented its place in Le Mans history, one of the most important and revered racing circuits in the world.
This along with the hard-fought achievements of the Motul-supported teams made the event an overwhelming success.
