Pinnacle Motorsport has once again shown that its a strong contender in the newly-renamed Formula Regional Asian Championship Certified by FIA. With a fresh driver lineup for 2022, the Motorsport Ireland-licensed team has landed on the podium on four occasions which puts them 2nd in both the driver’s and team’s standings as the season reaches its halfway point.
Pepe Marti currently heads the team’s charge in the junior single-seater championship. Moving up from Formula 4, the Spanish driver quickly proved himself to be a front-runner in the series. He landed a strong 4th place finish during the curtain raiser at Yas Marina, followed by a pair of 2nd places at the Dubai Autodrome just a week later. He then improved even further by leading Race 3 during the third event, which he converted into another podium. Marti continues to impress the team as he now holds onto 2nd overall in the points and leads the rookie championship.

The reigning Spanish F4 champion Dilano van’t Hoff showed a lot of promise when he signed with Pinnacle Motorsport at the start of the year. However, he was forced to sit out the season opener due to health issues that immediately put him on the back foot in the points race. But the Dutchman had no issues getting back up to speed and qualified on pole last week at the Dubai Autodrome. He has scored one podium so far this season with more expected to come in the final two events.
Ayato Iwasaki also continues to impress the team at every outing. The Japanese youngster moved up to FRegional Asia straight from karting and has so far achieved all his targets in the series. He continues to improve at every event and manages to hold his own amongst a strong 27-car grid. His best result so far is 11th place at Yas Marina.
Switching from sportscars and prototypes, Salih Yoluc is performing well in his single-seater debut. He has managed to secure five podium finishes in the Masters Cup with two wins last week at Dubai.

The Formula Regional Asian Championship Certified by FIA resumes on the 12th and 13th of February at the Dubai Autodrome before heading back to Yas Marina a week later for the season finale.
John O’Hara, Team Director: “We’re extremely satisfied with how the season has gone so far. Pepe has been a real star and himself and Dilano are really pushing each other and the team forward. With two events remaining, we’re pushing harder than ever to achieve championship success.”
