Crafted for the Journey: Yamaha PG-1 Captivates at Kustomanila

Yamaha Motor Philippines turned heads at Kustomanila 2025 by spotlighting the ultimate fusion of adventure and personalization: the Yamaha PG-1. With its classic design and rugged versatility, the PG-1 became the heartbeat of a weekend filled with immersive workshops, custom build competitions, and adrenaline-pumping test rides.

Through its powerful presence, Yamaha elevated the Kustomanila experience, offering moto-exploration enthusiasts a dynamic new way to express individuality through two wheels.

THE EXPLORERS’ NOOK
Custom Builds. Creative Workshops. Real Test Rides. And Yes—Coffee.

The highlight of the event? The PG-1 Outdoor Custom Throwdown, showcasing three exciting editions that emphasized the PG-1’s limitless potential for personalization.

Edition 1: The Biker Build-Off
Five of the country’s top motorcycle builders—HB Customs, Mark Paolo, Motoyaki Customs, 1008 Moto Garage, and Club Makina—faced off in a high-stakes challenge. With only a month to reimagine the PG-1, each builder unveiled a one-of-a-kind masterpiece reflecting their unique take on the explorer lifestyle. At the end of the competition, Motoyaki, from Pangasinan, claimed the crown with a bold, military-inspired design that seamlessly fused form and function.

Editions 2 & 3: Campers and Travelers Builds
These editions invited PG-1 owners from across the country to showcase their personal rigs. Each custom build was a reflection of its rider’s journey—some crafted for the call of the wild, others for long-haul escapes. The venue transformed into an inspiring gallery of creativity and adventure.

  • Crisanto Francisco won the Campers Build, earning praise for his functional yet adventure-ready design.

  • Oliver Herrera took home the Travelers Build title, with a setup made for long-distance exploration and rider comfort.

IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCES BEYOND THE TENT

Beyond the displays, Yamaha created a full-throttle outdoor test ride course—specifically designed to push the PG-1 to its limits. Riders tackled a mix of terrains, from gravel paths and asphalt to log obstacles, ramps, and sand trails. The result? A thrilling experience that highlighted the PG-1’s adaptability, strong suspension, and off-road capabilities.

Inside the Explorers’ Nook, visitors engaged in hands-on customization workshops, listened to Kustom Podcasts on bike restoration and modding essentials, and shared coffee-fueled conversations about their next adventure. A camping-style photobooth added a fun, shareable touch to the chill yet creative atmosphere.

THE SPIRIT OF THE PG-1: BUILT TO EXPLORE, DESIGNED TO EXPRESS

At Kustomanila, Yamaha reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing the moto-explorer community. The PG-1 isn’t just a motorcycle—it’s a blank canvas, a bold statement, and a call to the open road. It empowers riders to explore beyond the map and express beyond the norm.

Because true explorers don’t just ride—they redefine the journey.

Yamaha is just getting started. With more moto-exploration experiences on the horizon, every rider will soon have even more reasons to break free, ride far, and leave it all behind.
