June kicked off with a challenging yet highly rewarding double-header for BMW Motorrad Motorsport, with standout performances at two of the toughest events in motorcycle racing: round two of the FIM Endurance World Championship (EWC) at Spa-Francorchamps and the legendary Isle of Man Tourist Trophy (TT). The BMW M 1000 RR delivered impressive results across both events, including an overall second place in the FIM EWC, pole position and victory in the Superstock class, a win in the Superbike TT, and multiple podium finishes on the Isle of Man.

FIM EWC – Spa-Francorchamps
The BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team, led by Team Manager Werner Daemen (BEL) and featuring riders Markus Reiterberger (GER), Sylvain Guintoli (FRA), and Steven Odendaal (RSA), faced treacherous conditions during the eight-hour race at the demanding Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps. With heavy rain and intermittent dry patches across the infamous ‘Ardennes rollercoaster’, strategy and skill were critical.
Starting from third on the grid, the #37 BMW M 1000 RR crew showcased consistency and expert pit strategy to secure a well-earned second place—their first podium of the 2025 season following a fourth-place finish at Le Mans.

The ERC Endurance #6 team, with Ilya Mikhalchik (UKR), Kenny Foray (FRA), and David Checa (ESP), brought their #6 BMW M 1000 RR home in sixth. LRP Poland’s #90 entry finished 28th overall and 15th in the EWC class.
In Superstock, the #9 BMW M 1000 RR of the Champion-MRP-Tecmas Team was dominant. Riders Hannes Soomer (EST), Leandro Mercado (ARG), and Jan Bühn (GER) secured pole on Friday and followed it up with a commanding victory on Saturday.

Team Étoile (#25) narrowly missed the podium in fourth, while the Moto Jungle-supported Hungarian Endurance Racing Team (#713) took 11th in class. In the new Production category, Flying Buffs M3 Racing finished fourth.
The third round of the 2025 FIM EWC heads to Suzuka, Japan, for another eight-hour challenge on August 3, 2025.

Isle of Man TT
At the 2025 Isle of Man TT, the BMW M 1000 RR once again proved its pedigree in road racing. The Superbike TT kicked off Monday’s action with a stunning one-two finish for BMW. Davey Todd (GBR) of 8Ten Racing claimed victory, closely followed by Michael Dunlop (GBR / MD Racing).
In the Superstock TT races held on Tuesday and Friday, Todd secured two second-place finishes, while Dunlop completed the podium in third on both occasions.
The highly anticipated Senior TT was unfortunately cancelled due to worsening weather. Initially delayed by rain, the race was ultimately called off due to strong and unpredictable winds, with safety taking priority.
Peter Hickman (GBR / 8Ten Racing), another leading contender on the BMW M 1000 RR, suffered a heavy crash during Friday’s qualifying. After receiving treatment at Nobles Hospital, he returned to the paddock the following day to support his teammate Todd.

Sven Blusch, Head of BMW Motorrad Motorsport:
“Our riders and teams tackled some of the toughest events in motorsport with resilience and professionalism. A fantastic second place for the BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team and a Superstock victory at Spa—followed by a Superbike TT win and multiple podiums on the Isle of Man—showcase the strength of the BMW M 1000 RR. While it was unfortunate the Senior TT had to be cancelled, safety comes first. We send our thanks to everyone involved and best wishes to Peter Hickman for a speedy recovery.”
Christian Gonschor, Technical Director:
“Spa was intense, as always. With a constantly changing track surface, correct tyre choice was crucial and we consistently made the right calls. We also demonstrated top pace in dry conditions. The Superstock win by Champion-MRP-Tecmas was exceptional, especially considering it was their first race together as a team. At the Isle of Man, we continued to show the BMW M 1000 RR’s capabilities with a win and more podiums. We’re proud of all our teams and riders.”
Markus Reiterberger, BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team:
“Conditions were really tough, but the team and my teammates did an incredible job. This was our first podium with the new tyres, and it gives us momentum as we head to Suzuka.”
Sylvain Guintoli:
“Brutal conditions out there—rain, aquaplaning, constantly changing grip—but we kept it together. A strong result, and it feels great to be back on the podium.”
Steven Odendaal:
“A solid second place in such tricky conditions is something to be proud of. Every point matters in this championship, and we’re building step by step toward our goal.”
Hannes Soomer, Champion-MRP-Tecmas:
“My first time at Spa, and what an experience! The team was flawless, every rider did their part, and the bike performed perfectly. It’s a great feeling to win.”
Davey Todd, 8Ten Racing:
“Of course, it’s disappointing not to race the Senior TT, but safety is everything. Still, I’m proud to be this year’s only Superbike TT winner. That motivates me even more for next year.”
