It was a challenging yet insightful first day on track for Scuderia Ferrari HP at the Marina Bay Street Circuit. Under cloudy skies and warm conditions in FP1, both Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton completed their run plans smoothly. Leclerc posted the second-fastest time of the session with a 1:31.266 on Soft tyres, while Hamilton followed closely in fourth with a 1:31.480, also on Softs. Both drivers began the session on Hard compounds before switching to Softs as the track evolved and grip levels improved. The team used the final minutes to simulate race conditions and practice grid starts, laying a solid foundation for the weekend.
FP2, however, proved far more chaotic. Held under the lights with slightly cooler temperatures, the session was interrupted by two lengthy red flag periods following incidents involving George Russell and Liam Lawson. Leclerc and Hamilton began on Medium tyres and had limited opportunities to run the Softs due to the stoppages. Just as the session was set to resume, a minor pit lane collision between Leclerc and Lando Norris occurred as both drivers queued to rejoin the track. The Scuderia was fined for the incident. Leclerc managed to set his fastest time on the Softs, but never found a clean lap, while Hamilton was unable to improve on his earlier Medium-run pace.
Despite the disruptions, the team completed 83 laps—43 with Leclerc and 40 with Hamilton—gathering valuable data across all three Pirelli compounds. Both drivers also tested the SF-25’s cooling system, following the Race Director’s declaration of a “Heat Hazard” for the Grand Prix. A decision on whether to use the system in the race will be made after further evaluation.
Looking ahead, the final hour of free practice at 17:30 local time will be crucial for fine-tuning the cars ahead of qualifying at 21:00. With grid position playing a pivotal role in Singapore’s outcome, the team will aim to maximize every opportunity, especially after missing out on long-run simulations in FP2.

Charles Leclerc reflected on the day, saying, “It was a bit of a tricky day overall. FP1 gave us some encouraging signs and allowed us to build a solid foundation, but FP2 was far more disrupted, and we couldn’t quite piece everything together as planned.
I do believe the pace is there—we just need to execute cleanly and bring all the elements together. Whether we’ll be in the fight for pole remains to be seen, but the goal is to qualify strongly and give ourselves the best possible shot for Sunday’s race.”
Lewis Hamilton added, “It’s been a solid first day overall. Driving here with Ferrari for the first time feels special, and I’m really encouraged by how the car is behaving on this track. We spent the sessions getting properly dialed in, and I think we made good progress heading into FP2.
The evening was a bit disrupted with the red flags, which meant we couldn’t complete our long-run programme as planned, but there were still plenty of positives to take away. There’s always work to do overnight, but we’ve got a good foundation to build on and I’m looking forward to seeing what we can deliver tomorrow.”
The team remains optimistic, knowing that in Singapore, anything can happen—and the key to success lies in precision, adaptability, and execution.
