Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP Earns First Double Points Finish of 2026 in French GP

The French Grand Prix at Le Mans was another demanding weekend for Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP, but it also delivered a milestone: the team’s first double points finish of the season. Both Toprak Razgatlıoğlu and Jack Miller crossed the line inside the points, taking 13th and 15th respectively, and signaling progress for Yamaha’s new project.

Razgatlıoğlu, starting from mid‑pack, fought through a race of mixed fortunes. He admitted to a few mistakes and struggled with tire drop late on, but still salvaged 13th. Miller, meanwhile, gambled on a soft front tire in cooler conditions. The choice looked promising early, but as the laps wore on, he began to struggle, eventually finishing 15th. Despite the challenges, both riders added valuable points to the team’s tally.

For Team Director Gino Borsoi, the weekend was a step forward: “We managed to finish in the points with both riders, which is an important step. The gap to the front is still significant, but race after race we are reducing that distance. The bike is improving, and we are improving together with it.”

Razgatlıoğlu echoed the sentiment, noting that Fabio Quartararo’s strong pace showed the Yamaha package’s potential: “Seeing Fabio’s performance makes me realize I still have a lot to improve, and the bike has room to grow.

Maybe in Barcelona we can try a setup closer to his to understand if that direction works for me.”

Miller reflected on the tyre gamble: “It was one of those decisions that could have worked if the conditions shifted. We were closer to the others this weekend, but still not close enough.

We need to keep building from here.”

While the final positions remain short of the team’s ambitions, Le Mans offered encouraging confirmation that the project is moving in the right direction. The gap to the midfield continues to shrink, the riders are learning more about the bike each round, and the collaboration between riders, engineers, and technicians is beginning to translate into results.

With Barcelona up next, Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP heads into the Catalan GP with renewed confidence — determined to turn modest steps into bigger strides as the 2026 season unfolds.
