It was one of those days where the heat hung heavy in the air — humid, intense, and alive with the sound of engines. The AKEA × Max Orido Safety & Motorsport Festival, held at the newly opened Garage 559, turned Mercury Avenue in the C-5 area into a sea of headlights and revs. Traffic slowed to a crawl as enthusiasts poured in, eager to witness the launch that blended motorsport passion with a message of safety.
By sundown, the Autocomplex was packed — every corner filled with different builds, from classic icons to modern performance machines.

Generations of car enthusiasts stood shoulder to shoulder, united by the same love for cars and the culture that surrounds them. The air buzzed with excitement, the scent of fuel and rubber mixing with the rhythm of music and conversation.
Before Max Orido’s arrival, guests were treated to an electrifying Dyno Show hosted by B.Shock Auto Dynamics. The spotlight was on Humble Fabrication‘s 1,000+HP Monster Toyota 86, a beastly build that roared on the dyno and gave the crowd a taste of raw, unrestrained power.

The preview wasn’t just spectacle — it was a teaser of what’s to come, as this machine is set to compete in this year’s Motul Drag Master Cup.
At the heart of it all was Japanese racing legend, Max Orido, whose presence gave the event its soul. He reminded everyone that loving cars isn’t just about horsepower or aesthetics — it’s about discipline, respect, and safety behind the wheel. His words resonated deeply, especially among younger drivers who look up to him not just as a racer, but as a mentor.

“I want to sincerely thank all the fans who braved Manila’s weekday traffic just to be here for the launch of our AKEA × Max Orido Garage 559. Your passion and support mean the world to me. Cars bring us together, but they also remind us of our responsibility — because being a true car enthusiast is not only about performance or style, it’s about safety.
Every time you drive, remember that protecting yourself, your family, and others on the road is the greatest reward of all. After seeing the incredible builds and the energy of this community, I can honestly say I want to visit the Philippines more often. The creativity and discipline here are a sight to see in today’s world of tuning, and it inspires me every time.” says Max Orido
“Seeing the Autocomplex packed with builds from every generation of enthusiasts was overwhelming in the best way. Even with traffic jampacked along Mercury Avenue, people still showed up — and that’s what makes this community so special.
The launch of Garage 559 wasn’t just about opening a shop; it was about opening a space where passion, discipline, performance, and safety come together. To everyone who came, supported, and believed in this vision, thank you for proving that car culture in the Philippines is alive, united, and stronger than ever.” says Jherick Zshornack.
The ribbon‑cutting ceremony marked the official opening of Garage 559, a new home for enthusiasts and builders alike. Inside, the shop showcased its vision — a space where craftsmanship meets community, where every build tells a story.

Fans lined up for Max Orido merchandise, eager to take home a piece of the legend, while excitement built around the announcement of Max Orido Bodykits soon to be available for the Toyota GR86 (ZN8), Subaru BRZ (ZD8), Toyota GR Supra (A90/A91), Honda Civic Type R (FL5), and Toyota Land Cruiser 300 (ZX & Modellista Trim).
Beyond the builds and bodykits, Garage 559 also highlighted its partnership with X1R, one of its flagship product lines. Known for advanced lubricants, fuel system cleaners, and performance engine treatments, X1R products were showcased as part of the shop’s commitment to both safety and performance.
From engine treatments that improve efficiency to lubricants designed for high‑stress motorsport applications, X1R’s presence at Garage 559 reinforced the message that true car culture isn’t just about aesthetics — it’s about maintaining discipline, reliability, and peak performance on and off the track.
All throughout the evening, raffles kept the crowd buzzing, with prizes handed out between meet‑and‑greets and photo ops.

Despite the weekday grind, the celebration stretched until 11 PM, proving that passion doesn’t punch a time clock.
As the night drew to a close, the glow of taillights reflected off the humid air, Autocomplex remained jammed with cars — a testament to how deeply the community showed up. This launch of AKEA and Max Orido reminded everyone that the future of Philippine motorsport will be built on heart, discipline, and safety, and that Garage 559 is now the beating heart of that movement.
