It’s Motolite to the Res-Q

Motolite is one of the country’s oldest automotive related companies in existence. Introduced in 1949, the brand has grown to be one of the leading brands in the country. Be it OEM or the aftermarket segment, Motolite has made products that fulfill the needs of the market. Also they are developing new products to match the fast changing market.

Selling is one thing but keeping customers happy with your product is another. So in 2000, Motolite began a series consumer related programs. First one to roll out was the Bantay Baterya, a nationwide movement whose aim is recover, transport and recycle junked lead acid batteries safely. The movement was done incooperation with ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya Foundation’s Bantay Kalikasan Program.

Then in 2006, they launched the Balik Baterya Program which initially a ‘trade-in’ program on the retail level. The aim was to collect and safely recycle batteries for re-use. The program was done in partnership with PBSP (Philippine Business for Social Progress). The program was expanded to assist educational and enviromental projects.

In 2008, they introduced a service that help motorists in times of their dire need, like when the battery fails. The Motolite Express Delivery, later renamed to Motolite Express Hatid, meant assistance was just a phonecall away.

A decade passes and technology has become one of the tools that Motolite could assist their customers. As we all know, nowadays, we almost live in our mobile phones. We stay connected through the different apps we use. In 2018, Motolite decided to embrace technology and rolled out their mobile application.

Aptly call Res-Q, the mobile app serves as a roadside assitance platform for almost any breakdown that may occur. While battery assistance is the main purpose of the application. You can also use the app when you need assistance in fixing a flat tire, or your vehicle overheats, you can even call for extra fuel when your running low in areas covered by service. Those were initial services that you could avail of by using the app.

As of 2019, Motolite has already expanded the coverage of their Res-Q services. From the Metro Manila intial coverage, their coverage has gone up north to San Fernando, Pampanga and all the up to Baguio. Down south, portions of Cavite and Laguna will experience the convinience of using the Motolite Res-Q app.

With the current health situation, it did affect Motolite’s ongoing plans for further expanding the service coverage. But sources inform me that as soon as health protocol ease up, their plans are still to continue expanding their coverage to assist motorists…nationwide.

Expect more things to come from Motolite and their Res-Q app, in the service of the motoring public.

Downloading the mobile app is free of charge but guess what, the services are also free of charge to for existing Motolite battery users. You can download the Motolite Res-Q app at the following links:
