Rota Wheels, the country’s leading aftermarket wheel manufacturer, is set to release a new wheel design in their line-up.
Christened the TAIKYU, the new wheel breaks out of the molds in the popular size of 7.0×15 (et35 and 40). Perfect fitment for a wide number of vehicles on the road today. Although the current PCD application for now is limited to 4×100, other applications are coming in the near future.
The TAIKYU is also a product of Rota’s lightweight casting process, tipping the scales at a lighter than usual 5.5kgs for each wheel. For reference, Rota’s flow formed Slipstream is only lighter by .6 of a kilogram at 4.9kgs.
The 5 twin spoke design of the TAIKYU is an iconic motorsport wheel form factor and the defined wheel lip lends an aggressive look that will be desirable to years to come.
Though the TAIKYU is initially available in Plain Gold. Color availability will be in the following variations later this October:
- Speedbronze
- Gunmetal
- Plain Gold
- Plain White
- Yamaha Black
TAIKYU is a Japanese word that, loosely translated, means endurance. As all Rota wheels are stress tested to international standards. The TAIKYU is sure to survive the rigors of daily and motorsport use.
