Though travelling by land is more tedious and tiring in terms of driving, whether it be by 2-wheels, 4- or more wheels, Motolite batteries and their dealers have been scattered within a few kilometers away of each other…quite literally anywhere nationwide.
And so we started off our journey in Makati City, travelling southwards, heading to a place that holds a special place in my heart, Iligan City. The city of my humble origins. We all know that Motolite has big following within Luzon so its no surprise that we see their dealerships throughout the route once we have left the confines of the expressways and entered the old Philippine road network to catch the connecting ferry to Samar and Leyte. The first leg was event free and got to board the ferry with time. We got to the ferry port a little after noon. After a short-ish ferry ride, we prepared to begin the 2nd leg of the trip. A trip that will take us from the northern tip of Samar to the southern tip of Leyte.luzon.
We were seeing Motolite dealers there with such frequency, We’d be fooled to thinking we never left the island of Luzon. We made our way slowly to the city of Tacloban. We, inadvertedly, had choosen a route that had less than perfect road conditios, but was a more direct way to the city. We were hunting down Motolite Tacloban – CCQF. Upon transversing the San Juanico Bridge, we were close to our destination for our 2nd leg of the journey. We caught them near their closing time because of the less than ideal route we took. But we got there without any incident.

We loaded up with dinner and headed to the tip southern tip of Leyte to catch the ferry that would take us to the island of Mindanao. Driving all evening, we made the most of travelling in the darkness to arrive at ferry port with time to spare for a rest stop before getting on the ferry.
At daybreak the next day, we find ourselves on the ferry travelling to Surigao City. With a longer transit times of the ferry, the rest was welcome before non-stop driving begins once again. After our stopover, we headed to Cagayan De Oro City on the way to Bukidon City. Roads were basically better in Mindanao so travelling by land was more of joy there. We hit our destination for the 2nd day as estimated. We decided to take it easy for the evening. But unexpectedly, we met up with friends who were in town for a different activity altogether. Come the next day, we set out to find Motolite dealers in the area, sure enough we found a few but they were closed due to it being a Sunday. We decided to make the most of our stay in Bukidnon City and spent the day resting up after two days of continous driving.
Day four had us driving once more. Setting out to head to Tagum City. In advertedly, we discovered a new route that takes us through the scenic mountain roads of Davao Del Norte.
The scenery was well worth the detour route we took. It was so new that some portions of the route was still under construction. By evening, we had reached Tagum City and planned to stay the night and start fresh the next day.
As you may have noticed by now, we were taking it slow across Mindanao. We had time to spare before heading back to Manila and wanted to take in the places and changes that happened there. We set out on the fifth day of travels, heading to Davao City and, ultimately, Iligan City. We went thru Cagayan De Oro City again but only briefly since we had estimated reaching Iligan City late in the evening.
On the sixth day, with a location at hand, we searched Iligan City for the the Motolite distrbutor in the area.
